We pride ourselves that virtually all our teas, spices, herbs and blends are organic and Fairtrade.

So they are good for you, the environment and our growers. Steenbergs Organic directly buys organic spices, organic herbs and organic Fairtrade tea from 15 projects around the world - India, Indonesia, Madagascar, Spain, Sri Lanka and Turkey - as well as additional products, bought indirectly.

We aim to source most of our organic spice and organic herbs and organic Fairtrade tea direct and ethically, paying a premium to our farmers. This underpins economic vitality and contributes to better social welfare for workers and local communities.

We were the first British business (and one of the first in the world) to become registered for Fairtrade spices. In addition, most of our teas are licensed as Fairtrade. We also pay an annual contribution of 1% of any non-Fairtrade tea sales to Practical Action, a charity focused on using basic technology to reduce poverty in developing countries.
